Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess's Soundtrack

Considering how gorgeous of a soundtrack this is, I was shocked to learn that it was not composed by Koji Kondo, but rather his protégé, Toru Minegishi. Kondo, being arguably one of the greatest video game composers who's ever lived, has been the primary contributor to pretty much every mainline home console Legend of Zelda soundtrack, so the fact that he was not the main composer to a soundtrack as utterly gorgeous as Twilight Princess's was very suprising! But clearly, the music does not suffer for it.

Twilight Princess's soundtrack, much like the rest of the game, is a delicate balance between silly and deep - light and dark. This dichotomy exists all throughout Twilight Princess, and the soundtrack acknowledges and even amplifies that theme. If you listened to "Malo Mart theme" and "Midna's Lament" right after one another with no prior knowledge, you would never guess they were from the same game - although you would certainly agree that both tracks were good.

The truth is, I can't begin to describe how beautiful this soundtrack is. I believe it's one of the best in the Zelda series, personally. Have a listen for yourself!
